Early September evenings are the perfect time to create a patio dinner featuring panini sandwiches. All ingredients such as vegetables and chicken can be grilled earlier in the day and set aside in the refrigerator. When the family is ready to eat, create an enticing buffet table of grilled ingredients, sliced Italian bread, olive oil, aoli (flavored mayonnaise) and cheeses. Each diner can create his or her own sandwich and add pickles, olives, or a simple salad as an accompaniment. Be sure to have nonstick tongs on hand to make removing the hot sandwich from the panini maker. Our whimsical Rooster or Pig breadboard adds to the festive feel of an informal, outdoor supper. Use our new Wustof Panini knife to neatly cut the sandwich in two.
Serve vanilla ice cream topped with grilled peaches for a perfect end to a lovely and relaxing family dinner.
